Happy End-of-May to you, our devout and loyal minions. It is time for your weekly fix of Breaking the 4th Wall. You’ll have to forgive Paul if he isn’t as…eloquent or wordy with this article… He had to be chained to the wall with his mouth duct-taped shut due to sudden onset murderous rage.
No tape could restrain me, and past relationships have taught me enough about chains for that to be a minor hiccup. Funny thing about safe words. Regardless, all I have towards you is… what’s a better word for contempt? Rage? Pure and unadulterated rage that would even have Atrocitus telling me to chill out. Rawr…
Apparently, taking the last of the coffee in the pot is a no-no, but watching him type with his feet while he curses a blue streak in two different (and I think I heard a third) languages is rather amusing. But moving on.
This week, we’ve chosen:

Johnny Wander by Ananth Panagariya & Yuko Ota
This is a cute little webcomic that follows the hilarious antics of Ananth, Yuko, their crazy roommates and their cats.

Paul: I got into Johnny Wander through Applegeeks and have been reading it for quite some time now. While the story is random at times, it is always fun to read. The art style fits the comic theme awesomely and the little interludes and short one-shot stories in between the overall story are just delightful. It’s funny, it’s quotable, it is just a good comic. What more could you ask for?
Jess: Paul’s just been on a roll with all the comics he’s been introducing me to lately. They’ve all been so addictive and this one is no exception. Johnny Wander delivers so much of what I love in a comic! It has a simple, unique anime-like art style, it feels like Saturday morning newspaper funnies (only a GOOD one), it never fails to make me giggle and I was legitimately disappointed when I got all caught up ’cause I couldn’t marathon-read it anymore. This is an awesome comic and it made my rotation in a big way.

Final Verdict
Paul: Johnny Wander wanders itself into a 5 out of 5 creepy raven with teeth pencils. While awesome, those things are the catalyst for nightmares. There are few webcomics that I will go back to re-read over and over again, but this is one of them. Check it out and if you don’t find it enjoyable you should try and locate the soul you may have misplaced.
Jess: I give this comic 5 cat fur covered pencils. Johnny Wander does an amazing job getting you hooked and keeping you there.

And that wraps up another interesting review of Breaking the 4th Wall. I’m gonna go make about a gallon of java and decide whether or not I toss Jess out the window Emperor’s New Groove Style. I’m leaning towards the window option. Might be an interesting poll idea. What do you think?
