When you hear the names: Jude Law, Forest Withaker, Liev Schreiber, several things come to mind: Awesome actors, incredible cast, and you’re right. Not think of them in a action movie, all have done it and in their own fields have accomplished it flawlessly (Law: Sherlock Holmes, Withaker: Vantage Point, Schreiber; X-Men Origins: Wolverine.) Put them together and what do you get? Drop dead gorgeous action flick? Survey says….

Film Synopsis: Remy (Jude Law) and Jake (Forest Withaker) are life long friends who work for The Union, an organization that loan mechanical organs at a high cost. Can’t make the payments in 3 months? Then you’ll get a visit from the repo men.

Impressions: With an awesome premise like that what could go wrong? How about the fact that this “fun” little flick is about 25 minutes too long? They could have easily cut the film down to a buck ninety.  There were moments that my attention went else where because nothing important was going on screen. They have scenes where you can go purchase some popcorn, go take a leak (Hopefully not in that order), return and still not have missed anything that would make you think: “What is going on?!”

So it’s safe to say with the paragraph above that the story and sequences for this movie is not top notch. It feels very cliché and predictable, from character dialogue to the bland outcomes that tries to drive the story along the road.

Many of you may not know this but there was a other film that had come out called Repo The Genetic Opera. The story was very similar to that of the one up on the review block with one bonus to it. It came first, and was played out very nicely. All I could do while sitting and looking at this movie was to compare how the Repo The Genetic Opera handled things in a better manner.

One thing that can be compared to both and have no clear winner is the acting. Law, Withaker, Schreiber, knock this out of the park as expected. If anyone else had been casted the film altogether would have flopped. So it’s nice to see there are some kinds of saving grace.

Just as it looks like the movie is about to rise up for a comeback…the audio department gets mentioned…like….right now.  The music in this moving picture was really all over the place. You get to hear orchestrated music, techno and a little rock for good measure. Sadly the combination just doesn’t meld well. It simply was too different from one to the other.

Final Thoughts: …Mediocre at best. I’m sorry but thanks for playing! Repo Men Falls flat too many times to recommend viewing this in theatres. There are too many problems with it. If you really need that fix of organ loans and brutal surgeries I would simply suggest to watch Repo The Genetic Opera, it’s blood, singing and everything!
